Smart Ideas (www.ideas-smart.com) is a pet project that tries to create a community of users, who share their smart ideas. Under Smart Ideas we understand ideas which require rather small effort to execute, but have large impact. Or, they creatively leverage certain knowledge or physical/social law in order to create desired impact. We are not interested in simple step-by-step instructions, which are neither innovative nor creative. This is how Smart Ideas distinguishes itself from the other sites for sharing knowledge or ideas.

Anyone with a valid email address can create an account and contribute articles and/or questions. Articles describe smart ideas. Questions are requests for someone else to write an article that describes solution to certain problem. No authorization is required in order to browse the content of Smart Ideas.

The articles are categorized in two-level hierarchy of categories. Top-level categories include career/work, food, health, personal growth and many others. On the level below, there are categories, which refine the top-level categories. The articles and questions are also free-tagged.

Smart Ideas is built on top of Drupal, which is an open source content management system. Several contributed Drupal modules and several in-house developed Drupal modules are included in the installation.
